Samsung’s next flagship phone, the Galaxy S8, will be late â if you compare it to its predecessors, that is.Â
The chief of Samsung’s mobile division, Koh Dong-jin, confirmed to Reuters on Monday that the company would not unveil the Galaxy S8 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, which starts Feb. 27.Â
Koh did not share any information about a future launch date.Â
The delay is likely due to the numerous cases of the Galaxy Note7 overheating and bursting into flames, which caused Samsung to pull the device from the market and issue an apology and an investigation into what had happened. The results of that investigation were also published today (short version: it’s the battery).
