LAMUDI TEAMS GIVE BACK DURING RAMADAN
Global property portal focuses efforts on charity and more during Holy month
JULY 25, 2014: It is the most important month on the Islamic calendar – a time of daily fasting, self-reflection, and acts of charity. Though it is not just individuals who observe the Holy Month of Ramadan, as an increasing number of international businesses are also doing what they can to give back.
From Iftar events to local charity initiatives, leading property portal Lamudi has been tailoring its services in Asia and the Middle East to people’s needs during the Holy month. Lamudi’s local offices stretching from Indonesia to Saudi Arabia have been hosting Iftar for clients, distributing meals at local mosques and hosting team events to celebrate the end of Ramadan to mark Eid al-Fitr.
The Lamudi branch in Saudi Arabia have been doing their bit to help the less fortunate during Ramadan by distributing Iftar meals to those in need. Following a long day of fasting, the Lamudi team spent the evening distributing over 100 meals to visitors at a local mosque and to commuters at a busy traffic light. Visitors to the mosque received a full meal of: chicken, rice, sambousek, dates, water, and laban, whilst over 70 lighter meals were handed out to commuters at the traffic lights.
Khalid Alali, Head of Lamudi Saudi Arabia, said: “In addition to fasting and prayer, a central component of Ramadan is charity. But this is not just a responsibility that falls on the individual. International businesses like Lamudi also have an obligation to give generously during the Holy month.”
In Indonesia, the Lamudi team recently held an event to break the daily fast for its clients and partners. The event was held at the exclusive Casa Domaine development, giving guests a chance to get up close with a premium property development in the heart of Jakarta. Casa Domaine, which is set to be the tallest residential building in Jakarta, will reach 61 floors when it is completed in 2016.
Lamudi’s team in Bangladesh has held two Iftar meals, the evening meal to break the fast during Ramadan. More than 100 clients and media partners attended the dinner in Dhaka this week, while more than 50 partners attended a second dinner in Chittagong. Lamudi also hosted a team Iftar with its sister company Carmudi on Wednesday to celebrate the start Eid, the holiday that marks the end of Ramadan.
In Pakistan, Lamudi brought together some of the country’s top real estate agents for an Iftar meal. About 40 agents broke fast together at the exclusive Sunset Club in Karachi on July 19, with guests treated to a buffet in a relaxing open-air setting. The event was a chance for the agents to share their knowledge of the local property market, as well as some advice for selling and leasing homes in the current climate.

The company ran Facebook photo competition in which followers had a chance to win vouchers from these services.
