According to The Wall Street Journal, Samsung is in the last stages of the development process with its brand new bendable displays, this website reported by a “reliable source” close to the production condition. It is expected that the new screens in the first half of 2013 and completed not long after on the market in the form of smartphones and possibly tablets.
Plastic displays the Koreans are not only highly flexible but also unbreakable and lighter than any other current monitor on the market. Samsung refused to comment on the news and it is therefore unclear when the first devices appear with a bendable display.
Earlier this year Nokia was already out with a prototype smart phone that uses a flexible screen and LG would be engaged in the development of electronic paper. We are wondering if this is indeed the future of tablets and smart phones.
